The size of a snail is equally likely any length between 2.5 and 4.5 millimeters. if you randomly encounter a snail, how long would you expect him to be?

You need to find the average length. You use the two numbers that gave you the range. (4.5-2.5)/2+2.5 = answer

so (4.5-2.5)=2 now 2/2=1  1+2.5=3.5mm 


(Remember PEMDAS) order of operations is important!!
