Let's put it into perspective.

x/(x+5)

If increase by 3:

(x+3)/(x+8) = 3/4

Cross multiply.

4(x+3)=3(x+8)

4x+12 =3x+24

Solve algebraically.

4x-3x = 24-12

x = 12

Therefore, original fraction is:
